Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Information

RoHS is European legislation that bans cadmium, hexavalent chromium, lead, mercury, PBBs (polybrominated biphenyls), and PBDEs (polybrominated diphenyl ethers). Rhombus Industries is committed to working with our customers to be able to offer products which meet their specific needs while complying with RoHS legislation.

Lead is the only RoHS-banned substance of concern for the products manufactured by Rhombus Industries. We have traditionally used tin/lead solder (plating) for the surface finish of leadframes. These packages are deemed as "leaded." For the majority of those items an RoHS Compliant version is available with Matte Tin finish leadframe (nickel underplating). Products that require high temperature internal solder joints are compliant per the exemption of RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC Annex (para. 7) and are designated by an "R" suffix . Those Rhombus components that are available in an entirely lead-free RoHS compliant version have an "LF" suffix (typically available for self-leaded coils and many bobbin style assemblies)
